Another Day

Another day, another Sunday. I now reminisce about what I have been doing so far in this past week. From the heatwave weather to the cool and cloudy, what is it that's making my eyes all itchy in 5th period? Who knows.

You guys may know by now that I'm a senior in high school, starting on her loathsome college applications. ....JUST KIDDING! I just finished on Thursday, waiting for the next step, playing the good ol' waiting game. Speaking of waiting, politics is in the air. Two candidates debating it out whilst leaving the poor moderator in the corner. School tuition and education may be the deciding factor in the election. You know how crazy students would go if tuition costs increases, right? Like a raging mob of foaming Tasmanian devils! Better yet, leave the foam-out-of-mouth out--for now.

Other than talking about the raging issue of tuition costs, what about the weather?

The view from my room, yes those paper bags are covering our guava. Makes them huge!
Last week, temperatures went up all the way to the 100's putting everyone alike into an uncomfortable position. Mother Nature, why the sudden heatwave? BUT! Luckily the forecast for this week will "feel like Fall." Please, let the cold weather come in quickly.

Winds blowing SoCal....!

As some of you may have heard on the news or read an article about it, some winds blew Southern California! Man, it was hectic. Some who woke up around 3 in the morning to go to the bathroom or such may have heard the strong gusts of wind. My dad had to give my dogs a towel to sleep with in their little dog house and cover it with some sort of garden cover to prevent plants from knocking down on them ;-;!

I didn't realize how many things toppled over until I was on the way to school for zero period (6:45 AM). I saw many trees broken (not sawed) by the winds overnight. For the first time in my experience, school has been canceled due to power outage! Isn't it usually the snowy areas that get school closed? Wow, and I found out today that we have no school tomorrow too!

Oh darn it, I actually looked forward to school today. I bet the teachers' lesson plans are all jumbled up now. O_O

11/11/11 : Make a Wish & Vet's Day!

Yes! There's no school today! I now know how it feels when people become a bit lazy to blog about things they've been doing. What have I done? Other than my Anime Expo maid outfit for Halloween, playing music for elementary/middle school students, screaming my lungs out cheering for the football team as I play my bass drum, and the kitchen remodeling in-the-making.... it was great. Happy month of November!

This month is also the month I turn sixteen....! I was so upset on Thursday because I can't donate blood unless I'm that age! I've always wondered how it would be to donate blood to the Red Cross that visits 3-4 times a school year. I hear that I can save three lives with one pint! I believe it's a good thing to donate your blood so it can be given to a person with any blood disease such as leukemia and sickle cell.

Save a life!
So I give my respect for the veterans who risked their lives to fight for our country. Although there's some ideas I don't agree with, it's their choice to serve for the country!

I hope you guys make a BIG wish today at 11:11pm :)

Binder issues....

I have been roaming around my house looking for my 1 inch folder. Really....this is practically the second time I had misplaced it. This just gives me a nice idea...going for the 2 inch folders. A folder so thin can get misplaced so much. Clumsy me. Last year I had no problem misplacing my folder because it was hardly taken out!! My lanyard was always lost and eventually found.

The main problem was thinking if my essay drafts were in them. My AP Lang assignment is due tomorrow for its final draft. Was it in there...? NOPE. *relieved* Now I can go on to typing! Oh darn, I forgot to do my three freewrites, better do it right now! Why can't blogging be my homework assignment?

Must. Find. Folder.

Back from school...!

So, it's been months since my last post an I have been really enjoying my classes! Yes, even the dreaded U.S History class. Since today was Tuesday, I forgot that there was a NOVA club meeting! :( It was previously named Science Olympiad but the name has been changed to um, well... make it more exciting?

Anyhow, going onto physiology, I don't even want to get burns anymore. Our teacher lied about how she didn't want to show us the 3rd degree burn after being shown with the first two. BUT! Really, just look at those Rotisserie Chicken you see at Costco; that's practically how your skin would look like. I am thankful to our skin's most important job of protecting us from all the harmful substances that would easily make us sick. Speaking of sickness, the trumpet section of the marching band has been getting the Hands, Foot, and Mouth disease. It's where you start getting these blister-type bumps where it would just hurt a lot. It's a very contagious disease and you can easily get it through bodily fluids. Yesterday a friend couldn't swim in the pool because getting it in the water would infect almost the whole team! No swimming for two weeks?

Finally, there's Art Club. We have meetings every Wednesday in the school's ceramic class and that may be my most favorite classroom in campus. We recently had button design submissions and I was so frustrated to see how many empty circles were in my sheet that I randomly spewed up some random images. The one I worked the most on would be the nice center where I drew a moon and star. The way I outline my images are unevenly bolded. I would start off with a plain ol' lineart then continue to add bolded layers. Here's an image I drew! (I couldn't find my original ones when I first started)

Ignore my beloved seal. It looks like a Dewgong from Pokemon... with an attached mermaid tail. LOL The deer-rudolph thing was also random. Hehe, the sweet potato chips was for a friend that couldn't get enough of these chips I shared with him. Overall, I enjoy drawing with this style because I can leave it uncolored! I don't think I could imagine it being colored because I would mess up! Oh yeah, that last one there was random too. Spazzing with additional features.

School frustration...

Ugh, don't you just HATE group projects...especially the ones your group so happened to decide "recording." Well, what sucks is that I foolishly had to use my dad's JVC hard disk camcorder and after all that recording...I didn't have the USB cable to transfer it in. Ugh, another problem that adds on could be the frustration into the people of the group! I understand that sometimes the leader could also get uneasy about all the ideas and suggestions your group members spout out but TRY to look like you even want to listen! The moment you hear something you don't want to listen is that you tend to give a plain nod then throw it all onto the rest of the members.

If the worst comes to worst, we might have to do it live. What do you mean "we can't?!" What's wrong with acting like goofballs having fun on the stage? *messes hair* There's nothing wrong with doing it in front of the class...butttt there's one who gets extremely nervous and I can cope with that. You already know you're very shy in front of the class. Can't you start working on improving your courage presenting in the class? Everyone gets this in their lives and some last longer than others. I believe that the person will then start to overcome this fright and in the future will start getting used to presenting in front of others. 36 students is bad? Imagine presentations to an entire industry.
